When asked if they can crack a puzzle, most people will answer: "
Sure I can!"
But studies show that very few people, in fact,
only 5 to 15% of the people, have the skills to solve puzzles that are fairly simple.
Why do you think that is?
It is in our nature to prove ourselves right, even if we know we're wrong.
Yes, you read correctly... It's as if we thought to ourselves: "Well, I've already worked so hard to get to this point, I don't care if I'm wrong anymore... I'll just keep going..." We are aware that we are moving further and further away from the correct answer, but our subconscious mind is, in a way, protecting us... So we keep looking for a way to make our answer right... Or at least good enough so that we don't have to admit that we are wrong.
You might be thinking: "Wait a minute... Our subconscious mind protecting us? From what?"...
From FAILURE... One of the things humans fear the most... And granted, it seems counter intuitive... But that's just the way we are wired.
Surely, you've heard that 90% of new businesses fail, over 40% of all first marriages end up in divorce, we start things and we don't finish them, and so on.
Not you, of course... Just everyone else, right? ;-)
Well, most of those failures could be avoided if we just learned to innovate our thinking... our way of looking at things.
At CrackAPuzzle, our goal is to help you train your mind to see new options, new ways of approaching your problems, new possibilities for your career, your relationships, your health, and your life. All through the power of puzzles!
